Skin aging is a natural process influenced by both intrinsic (genetic) and extrinsic (environmental) factors. Intrinsically, it results from the gradual breakdown of collagen and elastin, leading to wrinkles, fine lines, and reduced skin elasticity. Extrinsically, exposure to factors like UV radiation, pollution, smoking, and poor diet accelerates skin aging by causing oxidative stress and damage to skin cells. Over time, the skin becomes thinner, drier, and more prone to pigmentation and sagging due to the loss of supportive structures.
